Mission
Our mission is to build a better Hollygrove-Dixon Neighborhood for future and present generations. Our mission is rooted in the belief that Hollygrove-Dixon-driven solutions are crucial to addressing environmental and resilience issues faced by Hollygrove-Dixon residents.
I Am Hollygrove-Dixon
Just to remind myself
I live in the Hollygrove-Dixon Neighborhood. This is not the Ghetto
this is not the hood
we do not live in slums
and we're not at the bottom.
We are a community
with real people,
with real children
who have real dreams
and who have real aspirations.
We are inspired by our culture
and fueled by our audacity
to hope
to demand
to declare
Hollygrove-Dixon Neighborhood is
not the Ghetto
we are not the hood
we don't live in the slums
and we are not at the bottom of anything.
I am Hollygrove-Dixon.

Sustainability
Hollygrove-Dixon
Discover how HDNA is dedicated to creating a sustainable future for our neighborhood. Through innovative Nature Based Solutions, we combat flooding and reduce the Urban Heat Island effect. Partnering with Water Wise Gulf South, we educate on Green Infrastructure and implement projects in residential, church, and commercial areas. Join us in making a positive impact on our community. Our Gardens
Our Community Garden located at 4206 Eagle Street and the Children's Garden at 8606 Marks Street, we address food deserts in our community. We grow a variety of vegetables so those who put in sweat equity can share in the harvest. Our children's garden is currently experimenting with Three-Sisters Plantings.
Garden Care
Join us in maintaining the lush greenery of our Community Garden and Children's Garden. Help nurture vegetables and pollinators to create vibrant and welcoming spaces for all to enjoy. And you can feed the worms and process the food scraps we get from neighbors. There is something for everyone.
Volunteer Opportunities
Become a part of our dedicated team of volunteers and contribute to the upkeep of our gardens. Whether you have a green thumb or are eager to learn, there's a place for you at HDNA. We also have a vermiculture enclosure that allows us to get fresh nutrients to add to our soil. So if you like playing with worms -- sign up now.
